Mark Ferguson on "Hercules: The Legendary Journeys" (1995)

Although he's best known to PR fans for his work voicing monstrous villains, Mark Ferguson (voice of Moltor, Overdrive; voice of Gekkor, Jungle Fury) played a villain in the flesh during the first season of "Hercules: The Legendary Journeys." Ferguson appeared in the action/adventure series' sixth episode titled "As Darkness Falls." Hercules attends a wedding, which is crashed by a band of centaurs bent on revenge for not getting the respect they deserve in the wedding plans. Ferguson portrays the centaur, Craesus, who is talented at the javelin which he displays at the festivities, before his leader, Nemis, begins his assault. Craesus challenges Hercules to a competition and promptly loses to the half-god. As a reward for his help in destroying the celebration, Craesus takes the bridesmaid Cheris hostage while Nemis steals the bride. Craesus doesn't last too long, however. When Hercules pursues the centaurs, he shoots Craesus with an arrow, killing him. This episode is also notable for being the first to feature future "Xena" star, Lucy Lawless, as Lyla the only human member of the centaurs' gang.

Season 1 of "Hercules: The Legendary Journeys" is available on DVD
